Beer making event

Postby BlueCruzer » Tue Dec 18, 2007 7:03 am

Anybody interested in making some home-brewed beer? Rhodell Brewery in Peoria offers their professional brewing equipment to individuals and groups to brew their own beer. The cost is very inexpensive - about $1 per bottle of beer. Its a lot of fun and educational. You can brew the flavor of your choice, anything from a fruit beer or light ale to a heavy stout. They walk you through the entire brewing process so no experience is required. 4-6 weeks later you return to bottle your beer. Each batch makes 5+ cases of beer so several people could go together for a really interesting experience.

Beer Making

This does sound like fun. Perhaps it could even be a joint activity with the Peoria club depending on how many are needed to reserve the facility and how many can be accomodated at one time.

Excellent idea :!: That could be a cool inter-club event. No particular number of people needed. Just need to make a reservation. 1 to several people can be involved in each beer batch. Each batch makes about 5 cases and costs roughly $120 - $150, depending on the type of beer. If we have a bunch of people we can make multiple reservations. Its also a nice place for the group to socialize and test a few beers.
